Fairy and Fantasy Art Decorating Tips!
Below we've put together a few ideas we've brewed up in our studio for getting the most out of your art prints and other fairy art gift items in your collection, at the same time as adding some enchantment and inspiration to your home! There are some simple ideas to dress up frames, to more crafty fun. We'd also love to hear your ideas, or see photos of what you've done! We like to reward innovation, so email us your ideas and we may provide a little something in return! | Add a beautiful touch to any frame, by tying an oversized ribbon into a big bow to hang it by. This softens the look and is perfect for nurseries! Let the trails of the bow hang long so they appear down beneath the bottom of the frame as well. | | | Fairy and Fantasy Art looks great in ornate frames. To try something different, find a decorative oval or circular frame, for a real vintage look. | | Need a way to display all your precious odds and ends? An elastic board makes a great way to display small items like bookmarks, greeting cards, postcards or stickers. Simply use a standard square or rectangle frame, remove the glass, (optional: cover the wooden backing board in fabric to dress it up some more!), and weave a grid of elastic (wide fabric covered elastic is best) across the backing board, fastening it behind the board with glue, tape or pins. You can then hang the frame and simply slip your little items into the elastic, which will hold them all in. | | | A beautiful way to decorate your home is by using matching frames. Add some inspiration by framing an art print next to your favourite poem or verse in matching frames. Or for a more functional approach, frame a mirror in a matching frame to the artwork, hung next to each other, or on opposite walls. | | Turn your jewelry collection into a work of art! It is a shame, but we can't wear all our jewelry all the time, so here's a fun way to still be able to look at it and enjoy it when it's not being worn. Remove the glass from a frame (optional: cover the wooden backing board in fabric to dress it up some more!), and screw in some small cup hooks along the top. You can now hang your Art Pendants on display on the wall! | | | Rather than hiding your lovely Journal away in a bookshelf or draw, you can create a beautiful point of interest by displaying it on an ornate easel. If you're having trouble finding a nice ornate easel, try a cook book stand instead. In fact, you can always use another Journal on a cook book stand in your kitchen for your recipe collection. | | All those tiny magnetic artworks you've collected can create a lovely feature on a wall, instead of just on your fridge. Simply take the glass out of a frame, and replace it with a magnetic sheet (metal or magnet sheet), and fill it up with your magnet collection! | |
